Just Up The Road

I can’t sleep in this bed
Can’t drink enough to forget
All these memories like broken glass
Inside my head

I hit that open road
With no place left to go
Feel no heartbeat
Darkness fills up my lonely soul
I’m just 10 miles out of Reno

Somethin’ inside me
Says keep on drivin’
Someday we’ll make it home

Yeah , somethin’ inside me
Says keep on drivin’
Keep on drivin’ 'cause you never know

What’s just up the road
Just up the road

There was a girl I knew
I never could get through
I got her ghost ridin’ shotgun
And I can’t shake her loose

All I see is black
There ain’t no turning back
I gotta get somewhere somehow
I gotta get there fast
I’m burning oil and low on gas

Somethin’ inside me
Says keep on drivin’
Someday we’ll make it home

Yeah , somethin’ inside me
Says keep on drivin’
Keep on drivin’ 'cause you never know

What’s just up the road
Just up the road
Just up the road
Just up the road

SOLO

CHORUS

There must be someone anyone
(Just up the road)
There must be something anything
(Just up the road)
There must be someplace anyplace
(Just up the road)
Just up the road

There must be someone anyone
(Just up the road)
There must be something anything
(Just up the road)
There must be someplace anyplace
(Just up the road)
Just up the road

I made a vow that I would never write another artist bio. The money is macaroni and cheese money. The artists always complain: "I didn't say that" or "Who wrote this garbage about me" or “Could you pass me that red pen?” As author, you sign your name to your writing and then watch as the record companies "mistakenly" leave the name off. Bottom line, it's not dignified work. So I took my vow. Never again. And I didn't write one for over a year. And then, last week, Carey Ott's Lucid Dream CD came across my desk. This is the bio I’m writing because I have to.
