Late Night Early Morning

Late night
Early morning
Sunrise
Without a warning
Gives me
No time
To sleep off
Last night

I still hear
My buddies laughing
Cold beer
Pretty women dancing
No fear
We we’re feeling alright
And we can go on all night

When the neon sign
Says c’mon in
We rev it up let it ride
One more time
Take it for a spin

When it’s flowing right
Hope it never ends
Then the pretty bartender
Smiles at me
She says come on back again
At the end of another late night
Early mornin’

Head hurts
From all the boozin’
But I’ve gotta work
No time for snoozin’
Grab a clean shirt
And get on out the door

Punch the clock
And hit the ground runnin’
Don’t stop
Cuz quittin’ time’s a comin’
We’ll do it all
Like we done it the night before
And you know what’s in store

When the neon sign
Says c’mon in
We rev it up let it ride
One more time
Take it for a spin

When it’s flowing right
Hope it never ends
Then the pretty bartender
Smiles at me
She says come on back again
At the end of another late night
Early mornin’

Gotta let it all out
Can’t keep it all in
So we do it all again

When the neon sign
Says c’mon in
We rev it up let it ride
One more time
Take it for a spin

When it’s flowing right
Hope it never ends
Then the pretty bartender
Smiles at me
She says come on back again
At the end of another late night
Early mornin’

Carey Ott

I made a vow that I would never write another artist bio. The money is macaroni and cheese money. The artists always complain: "I didn't say that" or "Who wrote this garbage about me" or “Could you pass me that red pen?” As author, you sign your name to your writing and then watch as the record companies "mistakenly" leave the name off. Bottom line, it's not dignified work. So I took my vow. Never again. And I didn't write one for over a year. And then, last week, Carey Ott's Lucid Dream CD came across my desk. This is the bio I’m writing because I have to.
